1. Frank Turner – Double Door – July 28, 2016

Why It Was Great: Frank. In a bar. Don’t need to say much more. It was a short set as Frank had just flown in from Latvia and this would be 1 of 4 shows he would play in 24 hours (I made it to 3) but the place was packed to the rafters with hardcore fans.

Highlight: Frank called a guy onto stage who had emailed earlier in the day saying he didn’t know if he would make it to the show since it didn’t start until midnight and he had to work the next morning. To make sure it would be a memorable experience, Frank had the guy crowd surf to the sound guy at the back of the venue, grab two beers and then crowd surf back to the stage. He made it back without his feet ever touching the ground. Pretty cool.
