Why It Was Great: This show was Cheap Trick’s triumphant return home 2 days before the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame induction ceremony. Over the years I’ve seen them at least 5 times (probably many more) at venues ranging from free shows at Chene Park in Detroit to a main stage gig at Riot Fest. And they still kick ass.
Highlight: The band has a pretty long history with the Metro’s owner Joe Shanahan and it was evident that there was a lot of love in the room that night. Playing Hello There at the beginning of the set kicked things off on a high note and everything up from there.
